Extreme precision
The products that Ter Hoek manufactures for the medical industry are incredibly diverse. Ranging from medical instruments used for operations to stamps used to produce medication pills, the manufacturing possibilities for the medical or pharmaceutical industry are endless. Extreme precision is essential for all these products. And extreme precision is precisely Ter Hoek’s strength.
Process control
At Ter Hoek, we are used to working with stringent process controls. For many years, we have been working with risk analyses for many of our industries, with which we determine our processes based on process parameters. Through continuous process controls, we subsequently monitor whether these processes are being properly checked. After manufacturing, all parts are checked for any deformation or irregularities. Our AS9100 certification, a certification required to manufacture for the aerospace industry, is also a great advantage for our customers in the medical industry.
Techniques for the medical industry
When manufacturing for the medical industry, Ter Hoek makes use of various techniques. The micro wire EDM technique, for example, is highly suitable for medical instruments with narrow dimensions and contours, such as pincers and needles. This technique makes it possible to work with a thin thread with a diameter of only 0.02 to 0.05 mm.
However, the extreme accuracy of the PECM technique is also highly suitable for the medical and pharmaceutical industries. In fact, PECM can be used to manufacture surfaces with an extremely low roughness value (0.03 Ra). Such smooth surfaces prevent cross-contamination of different medicines due to their closed structure.
